2019 Annual Catholic Appeal
Pledge Report-July 2019
“Come Follow me...and Share the Word”
The monthly pledge billings for the annual Catholic Appeal have been mailed. It is very important these pledges be fulfilled so our parish will reach and, hopefully, exceed our goal.

Goal: $13,976.22
Amount Pledged:  $15,390.00
Amount Paid:  $11,380.00
Balance Due: $4,010.00

Once the payments have exceeded our goal in pledges paid, all funds are returned to our parish for use in our ministries.

The Archdiocese of Chicago is committed to providing safe environments for the community. In the midst of a culture of violence, the Church is a staunch voice to call us to be a place of peace. The Archdiocese has long had a best practice restricting the presence of firearms in our facilities. Most of our buildings display signage, consistent with the laws of the State of Illinois, indicating that these weapons are prohibited on the premises. Cardinal Cupich recently distributed a Policy aimed at updating and clarifying the Archdiocese’s position on the prohibition of firearms on all property it owns and controls.

Renew My Church
is the Archdiocese of Chicago’s call for renewal. Through Renew My Church, the archdiocese is working to strengthen parish vitality and better align its resources and its mission.

All 344 archdiocesan parishes are divided into 97 groupings, which will meet over the next few years. St. Pius X, as you know, is grouped with St. Hugh in Lyons, St. Mary in Riverside and Mater Christ in North Riverside.

For the past 13 years St. Pius X parishioners have supported our Religious Education “Sponsor a Student” Scholarship Program. Since its inception, we have received an overwhelming 90 scholarships. Fr. Tony Markus and The Religious Education Staff would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity. We ask for your continued support during the 2019-2020 School Year.
A $180.00 Sponsorship covers the tuition for one student for the school year. If you would like to be a sponsor or have any questions, feel free to contact Jim Donahue or Adrian Gonzalez by calling the RE Office at 708-788-6090 or by E-Mail at This email address is being protected from spambots.
